San Francisco Medicine, the Journal of the San Francisco Medical Society, asked BCP to submit an article for the January/February 2015 issue, Disaster Preparedness in San Francisco. This is what Gordon Fung, MD, PhD says in his Editorial, “Kent Corley reminds us not to forget about the most important ingredient during a major disaster: the blood supply. It is usually too late to respond to the blood bank during an emergency. This needs to be on everyone’s planning list so that the city can respond with adequate stores of needed blood.”
