San Francisco, CA – Throughout April, blood donors can save the lives of patients in need by giving blood with Blood Centers of the Pacific, while also helping Make‐A‐Wish Greater Bay Area grant life‐changing wishes for children diagnosed with life‐threatening medical conditions.

Every time a donor gives blood, they receive points for prizes like T‐shirts, movie passes, and gift cards through the Blood Centers of the Pacific online Hero Rewards Program. April blood donors can gift their points to Make‐A‐Wish Greater Bay Area, which will mean more opportunities to grant wishes for local children.

“Blood Centers of the Pacific and Make‐A‐Wish Greater Bay Area help children with life‐threatening medical conditions,” said Nicole Anderson, Regional Director for Blood Centers of the Pacific. “Many children that have received a wish from Make‐A‐Wish have also received blood transfusions during their treatment. Similar to blood transfusions, wishes granted by Make‐A‐Wish Greater Bay Area provide children with hope, strength and joy.”
“Giving blood has always been the right thing to do, and now it’s even better, especially for children suffering from life‐threatening conditions who can look forward to experiencing their one true wish with renewed strength,” said Make‐A‐Wish Greater Bay Area Marketing Director, Jen Wilson.
